Rob Gronkowski addressed one of the most bizarre locker room rumors from his tenure with the New England Patriots, indirectly confirming that former tight end Aaron Hernandez masturbated during team meetings.
Appearing on the Bussin With the Boys podcast, Rob Gronkowski was asked directly about the long-running allegation by co-host Taylor Lewan. Gronkowski laughed and stated that it was a distinct possibility, adding,
“I may or may have not seen it live. I’m not going to confirm nor deny. But I love crazy shit though. So I didn’t mind things like that. I was like, ‘Wow, that was pretty epic.’ I was a wild man myself, so nothing phased me.”
Before Hernandez’s life was taken over by events no one saw coming, he was a critical part of one of the most iconic Patriots duos.

Reflecting on the ultimate downfall of his former running mate, Gronkowski acknowledged that while he knew Hernandez possessed a wild side, the true depth of the situation surprised everyone in the organization.
“First off, unbelievable football player. There was definitely a lot of craziness. I didn’t mind it. Like I said, I loved it. I didn’t see it going to the level that it went to,” Gronkowski said.
“I knew there were definitely some wild sides to him. But it was wild, man. I was the guy that was truly there throughout his whole career. It’s unfortunate though what happened because the talent was just through the roof.”
The pairing between Gronkowski and Hernandez was highly productive on the field, forming a lethal offensive combination after both were selected in the 2010 NFL Draft. Hernandez spent 3 seasons with New England, recording 175 receptions and 18 touchdowns.
The on-field partnership came to a permanent end in 2013 when Hernandez was arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd, a crime for which he was later convicted before his death by suicide in prison in 2017.
