Speaking on The Draymond Green Show, Green offered a candid perspective on why the four-time champion ultimately declined the opportunity to team up with Stephen Curry in the Bay Area despite heavy league-wide speculation.
According to Green, the public perception and emotional weight surrounding four consecutive NBA Finals clashes between James and the Warriors created a hurdle that proved too significant to cross during summer free agency negotiations. But it was his explanation of the scrutiny James faced that highlighted the internal dilemma.

“I ultimately don’t think Bron was ever able to get over the history and I understand it, I get it,” Green stated on his show.

“He’s gonna get crushed if he comes to the Warriors, ‘ahhhh man you went to team up with Steph’ and ultimately I think that weighed in on the decision a lot, that played a big role in the Warriors not landing LeBron,” Green added.
The historic battles between James and Golden State defined an entire era of professional basketball. Leading the Cleveland Cavaliers, James met the Warriors in four consecutive NBA Finals from 2015 through 2018.
