NFL Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw revealed a harrowing personal story during a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, sharing that he once escaped a shotgun attack during a home burglary. The former quarterback recounted how a past break-in at his former 400-acre property escalated into a life-threatening situation.
Bradshaw described, to Joe Rogan, the vivid memory of seeing flames shoot from the barrel of the weapon as he fled into his backyard to escape the intruder.

The situation grew even more chaotic when Bradshaw attempted a quick getaway in his yellow and black 1970 Pontiac GTO. Shaken by the gunfire, the veteran broadcaster admitted he got confused by the vehicle’s gear shift pattern while trying to back up.Instead of shifting into reverse, Bradshaw accidentally put the classic muscle car into drive, accelerated forward, and crashed straight through a property wall.
Terry Bradshaw: “I’ve been I’ve been burglarized six times. I got shot at with a shotgun. This is how I can tell you that when you get shot at with a shotgun, flames come out of the gun. Flames.”

“And I’m running the backyard, jump to get in my car and this guy goes around the backside. Boom! I get in the in the old GTO 1970, yellow and black. Got in, but I’m used to pushing the button or pull in reverse, you go down, right? I pull it down, I turn around, I hit the brake, I go forward, right in through the wall. So yeah, it was not good. Not good. But my wife won’t let me keep anything,” Bradshaw continued.
Rogan: So where where did you get burglarized six times?
Bradshaw: Rustin, Louisiana. Mansfield, Louisiana. On my ranches.
Rogan: How big was the ranch?
Bradshaw: “400 acres at the time. They had to go through a the gate. The gate are locked. So how did
they get in? And you ever let me tell you something. You are lay in bed at night and it’s 1:00 am in the morning and you feel the presence of somebody else in your house. And a flashlight is going over your head and going through the wall like this. I can’t even begin to tell you. You can’t breathe. I’m laying down like this and I’m flattening myself. And back in those days, you’re too young to know this.”
Terry Bradshaw noted that the frightening sequence of events left him incredibly shaken during what he described as a highly dangerous night.

The terrifying incident is one of six total burglaries Bradshaw claimed to have experienced throughout his life. Describing the psychological toll of the break-ins, the four-time Super Bowl champion explained the sheer panic of waking up at 1:00 a.m. to see an intruder’s flashlight scanning his bedroom wall. The NFL analyst noted that the intense fear makes it almost impossible to breathe, causing him to flatten himself against the bed in a desperate effort to avoid detection by the criminals.
